SnowTech Medai provides are no set limits on the disk space or data transfer (bandwidth) that we provide in plans marked "unlimited". We do, however, require that customers coply with our Terms of Service and utilize disk space and bandwidth related to the normal operation of a personal or small business website.
If we find that an account is not operating their website in accordance with these standards, we may need to limit accounts that are adversely affecting other customers or otherwise utilizing or abusing resources beyond what would be expected of a personal or small business website.
Accounts found to be using website resources in excess of normal usage will be contacted and asked to rectify the situation within a reasonable time period. If the situation is not rectified, SnowTech Media may introduce disk or bandwidth limits. If the situation continues, your account may be suspended or terminated.
One common abuse is the use of your website disk space for storage of files—particularly multimedia files—that are not linked off of their websites. This is a violation, as SnowTech Media provides hosting disk space and bandwidth for the purposes of operating a personal or small business site. Our services may not be used to store or archive electronic files that are not available through the hosted website.
Normal usage means that you operate a personal or small business website that utilizes resources in a manner similar to most of our other customers. If your business requires extensive storage requirements or bandwidth demands, please contact us to determine if our Business Class Hosting plan is suitable for your website needs. If not, we will work with you to define an affordable custom plan that supports your business model.
Please note that our Business Class Service is a shared hosting environment. It is designed to operate efficiently to serve web content for all clients on the system. It is not set up for, nor intended to operate as a multi-media server. Streaming large video or audio files, or streaming to a large number of users requires more resources than a normal personal or business site would typically use. Media files should be stored and served from an appropriate server or 3rd party service.
SnowTech Media provides hosting services on a shared environment, therefore, each site has the ability to impact the performance of many of other sites. While our pooled architecture minimizes this risk in comparison to the more common single-server design, we do occasionally experience disruptions that result from customer activity. This is an unusual occurrence, but one which we manage carefully to protect our users from service degradations. Still, we want our customers to understand that there are guidelines in place before they purchase our services.
